The area for raising egg-laying chickens is especially the most spacious in the country, occupying the largest domestic single-area production ratio. As a result, in Min-Guo 50's, the price of Lujhu eggs was able to control the egg price nationwide, and the national egg price also served as the reference for the price of Lujhu egg. It is apparent how important Lujhu eggs were in those days. With the transformation of time and the rising of environment awareness, cultivation industry of the township has been moved elsewhere. However, the number of chickens and volume of egg production are still quite enormous; currently there are as many as 1.24 million egg-laying chickens in Lujhu District with an annual egg.
