[Kaohsiung News] The Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government stated that the operation of Kaohsiung City Rehabilitation Bus will be handed over to Kaohsiung Bus Group starting from July 1, and booking for July 1 is open on June 23 in conformity with the Regulations Governing Service and Fees of Kaohsiung City Rehabilitation Bus. The transition will be seamless and citizens are welcomed to make reservations using the booking hotline 55107 (dial directly with mobile or landline), fax (07-7401888), or online booking (www.kbus1314.com.tw).
To build up a more comprehensive network of shuttling services, Kaohsiung Bus Group will offer service at 25 depots in the city including Jiasian, Liouguei, Hunei, and Gangshan after the handover. The aim is to mitigate the lack of shuttling services in rural areas so that disabled citizens whether in urban or rural areas will all be provided with convenient shuttling services.
The Transportation Bureau pointed out that Kaohsiung Bus Group will personally contact disabled citizens in the near future to answer any questions they have about the Rehabilitation Bus service. Booking for July 1 can be made from June 23, 2019 onward in conformity with the Regulations Governing Service and Fees of Kaohsiung City Rehabilitation Bus. Service hours for booking are 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Disabled citizens are advised to make a booking seven, six, or five days in advance until 12:00 p.m. on the day before using the service via the hotline, fax, and online booking. The fees for Rehabilitation Bus service are calculated on a per capita basis with reference to the daytime rate of Kaohsiung city taxi (the rate) and mileage. Passengers who use the service alone will be charged one-half of the rate and those from low-income households will be charged one-third of the rate.
